Bitcoin Long Term Chart

BTC sold off in line with expectations reaching a new low of 60033 before correcting. We need to look to the short term chart to see if that was the end of wave 4.

Bitcoin Short Term Chart

Last time we said ‘We should now correct higher in wave iv and it looks as if 2 of them have already been completed. Look for a rally to the 80570 followed by the top of the channel and the 50% retracement level at 82450. Sell there with stops above the wave ii high for push toward the 70k level.’  We traded to 79300 before selling off to 60033. Since then we have retraced in 3 waves to test the 38.2% level at 71909. I do not rule out a push towards the 50% level and the top of the channel at 75600. With no signs of divergence and downward momentum running out of steam I expect to see another sell off to new lows around the 55k level followed by a test of the 50k. We will look for 5 waves lower in this leg to complete the correction. We are still bullish long term and will use this next sell off to get long. A break above 88k will cast doubt on this view.

Ethereum Long Term Chart

ETH broke lower and accelerated down to 1746 before correcting back this morning to a high of 2150. I am showing wave (iv) as complete but we do not rule out another push higher to test the 2241 or 2393 level. Whilst below 2784 we continue to look for a final 5 waves to new lows before a low is in place.

Ethereum Short Term Chart

Last time I said  ‘We traded to 3036 enabling us to sell and since then we have sold off in 3 waves. Looking at the divergence in the MACD we expect another leg higher towards the 2480-2520 area before the sell off resumes. A move back above 2800 would negate this current view.’ We just traded lower, never getting the chance to add to our shorts . I am selling now with stops above 2800 for a test towards the 1500-1630 level.

Daily Report 6 Feb 2026

U.S. equities markets tumbled with the S&P 500 declining 1.23%, the Nasdaq 100 shedding 1.59% in its worst three-day decline since April, and the Dow dropping 1.2% across nine of eleven major sectors, driven by weak jobs data showing the largest number of January job cuts since 2009, unexpected rise in unemployment applications, and job openings falling to their lowest level since 2020. Weak employment figures lifted Fed rate cut expectations for June to nearly 50%, pushing the 10-year Treasury yield down seven basis points to 4.20% and the 2-year down eight basis points to 3.47%.
Consumer Sentiment data is scheduled for release.
The Stoxx Europe 600 fell 1%, with miners among the biggest laggards following silver’s dramatic plunge and Glencore sinking 7% after Rio Tinto walked away from merger talks over valuation disagreements; Novo Nordisk tumbled 7.9% after Hims & Hers announced plans for a cheaper copycat weight loss pill.
The Bank of England held rates steady but came within a single vote of cutting while the ECB kept rates unchanged amid stronger euro concerns and trade uncertainty.
Bitcoin crashed 12% to around $63,650, falling below $64,000 as forced deleveraging sparked capitulation in digital assets, erasing nearly half its value since October highs; silver plunged 16% to $73.95 while gold shed 3% to $4,817 per ounce; oil prices weakened with Brent crude falling 2.9% to $67.46 and WTI dropping 2.7% to $63.38.

Bitcoin Long Term Chart

I haven’t updated the last chart because I said ‘Look for an acceleration on a break-out the channel. The next target to the downside is the wave iii low at 80553 followed by 76000.’ Yesterday’s low was 74540 just below our initial target. So we need to look to the short-term chart for any signs that the sell-off is complete.

Bitcoin Short Term Chart

Last time we said ‘We should now retrace in 3 waves in to the 88.8K-90.5K level , the area of the previous wave (4). I am happy to sell there and lower stops to 97922 level, looking for lower still in the coming weeks.’ We traded up to 90460 and stopped at the 38.2% retracement, enabling us to sell. Since then we have traded down in 5 waves  to complete wave iii. We should now correct higher in wave iv and it looks as if 2 of them have already been completed. Look for a rally to the 80570 followed by the top of the channel and the 50% retracement level at 82450. Sell there with stops above the wave ii high for push toward the 70k level.

Ethereum Long Term Chart

Last time I said, ‘I believe this is the start of wave (d). We should stay above 2774 in wave (d) with the current low 2784, I expect to see a minor recovery in wave (e) to complete the bearish triangle toward the 3100 level before the sell-off resumes.’ We traded down to 2784 in wave D before rallying int 3041 to complete the wave (b) triangle. The break below wave (d) saw an acceleration lower in line with expectations. So what is the target for the wave (c)?.

Ethereum Short Term Chart

Last time I said  ‘I am looking for a zigzag rally toward the retracement levels to complete wave (e) before the sell-off resumes. Look to sell at 3020-3090-3165  with stops above 3445.’ We traded to 3036 enabling us to sell and since then we have sold off in 3 waves. Looking at the divergence in the MACD we expect another leg higher towards the 2480-2520 area before the sell off resumes. A move back above 2800 would negate this current view.
